The trend estimate for whole milk intake by factories in December quarter 2006 decreased by 3% to 2.5 billion litres.
The trend estimate for wool receivals by brokers and dealers in March quarter 2007 remained steady at 115,000 tonnes.
The trend estimate for the number of cattle slaughtered in March quarter 2007 increased by 3% to 2.1 million.
The trend estimate for the number of calves slaughtered in March quarter 2007 increased by 8% to 261,000.
In March quarter 2007, the trend estimate for the number of sheep slaughtered increased by 3% to 3.6 million. The number of lambs slaughtered increased slightly to 5.1 million.
In March quarter 2007, the trend estimate for the number of pigs slaughtered remained steady at 1.3 million.
In March quarter 2007, the trend estimate for beef production increased by 2% to 570,000 tonnes.
In March quarter 2007, the trend estimate for mutton production increased by 2% to 72,600 tonnes. The trend estimate for lamb production increased slightly to 106,000 tonnes.
The trend estimate for red meat production increased by 2% to 852,000 tonnes in March quarter 2007.
The trend estimate for chicken meat production increased slightly to 205,000 tonnes in March quarter 2007.
Live sheep exports fell by 26% to 1.0 million in March quarter 2007. Gross value fell by 29% for the quarter, down to $69.5 million. Unit value fell by 3% to $68.02.
